Avital Avital, born in 1963, is a Porcelain artist based in Israel. She graduated from the "Avni" academy of art design in 1984. She became Guest Artist in "Altogether 8" gallery, Jerusalem since 2013. Her art is exhibited in museums among Israel and other countries, including Erez Museum (The Eighth Biennale of Israeli Ceramics). Her work is held in collection by organizations like Gallery 8 in jaffa.

"My porcelain work aims to create a hybrid between functional art and conceptual sculpture, and to challenge what we know about this delicate and noble clay.

 

I regard it as the wild horse of all materials. It took a long time for us to get to know each other. I realized I had no need to train or make this noble material surrender to my rule. instead I had to bring it to a state through which it could evolve into a piece that expresses my feelings. I try to express throw it, my being, the colors and the movements that are within me when I am working."
